I am invesitagiting the factors that predict L2 proficiency. More specifically I am looking into the patterns formed by explicit knowledge, implicit knowledge, and individual differences.

Biography

In 2006 I completed my Specialist degree in applied linguistics, language pedagogy, and cross-cultural communication at International University in Moscow. In 2009 I started my position as a university teacher at the same university. In 2011 as a Fulbright scholar, I taught Russian as a foreign language at the State University of New York. In 2012 I moved to Brazil where I worked as a foreign language teacher and teacher trainer at Grupo Santillana.

In 2022 I moved to Turku to conduct my Ph.D. research. Currently, I am co-managing a Langnet Language Learning and Teaching group.

Teaching

I have experience in teaching English a foreign language including grammar, theoretical grammar, oral fluency, and pragmatics. I also taught courses on second language acquisition theories and pedagogical practices, including lesson design.

Research

In my Specialist thesis, I analyzed Steven Krashen´s monitor model as a theoretical basis for the natural approach.

At the moment I exploring predictive factors of L2 English proficiency.
