Biography

I am an enthusiast patent law and emerging technologies researcher with a keen interest in patent law, artificial intelligence and pharmaceutical drug development. I am committed to advancing the understanding and application of patent legal frameworks in the rapidly evolving landscape of emerging technologies.

Research

My research looks into whether artificial intelligence (AI) systems that help discover new medicines should be recognized as inventors or owners of these drugs. At the moment, there are challenges in giving patent protection to drugs created by AI, both legally and socially. Through the use of the doctrinal as well as the grounded theory research methods, the research explores whether new patent rules need to be developed to support AI innovation in drug development. Additionally, it considers the social implications of allowing AI to be credited for inventing pharmaceutical drugs.
