Biography

I am a Dr.Soc.Sc, and university lecturer in social work at the University of Turku. In my research, I have followed the digitalization of social work since the early 2000s. The focus of my research is on how the digitalization of social work affects the encounter between professionals and clients and how the digital tools can be used to make social work practice more inclusive.

Lately I have also participated in research considering the importance of language in social work and in research considering systemic practice in child protection and child and family welfare services. In my future research the focus will be on the collaboration between schools (teachers and other professionals in the school environment) and social services.

I have gained almost 15 years of experience in lecturing and teaching at the university. I have developed my skills as an academic teacher and supervisor through practical work and by completing courses in university pedagogy.
