Biography

Anna works as a Research Manager at Pan-European Institute. She is currently working to develop education and research connecting global trade policy changes and international business environment and opportunities. She works on externally funded projects and is also engaged in teaching and master's thesis supervision. Anna's doctoral thesis is related to the institutional complexity of the pharmaceutical industry. Anna has her Master’s degree from Lappeenranta University of Technology (Industrial Management) and her Bachelor’s degree from Turku University of Applied Sciences (Biotechnology). She has previously worked at Lappeenranta University of Technology and the Department of Medical Biochemistry at the University of Turku. Her free time Anna spends with her family and friends, and gardening.

Teaching

Anna is responsible for a trade policy-related course at the Master's level and coordinates a multidisciplinary minor related to trade policy and global trade development. In addition, she supervises Master's thesis groups.

Research

Anna's research focuses on the interaction of business and policy. Her research focuses on understanding the changing international business environment and the different levels of dynamics at interplay. In addition to understanding the complexity of the business environment, Anna is interested in the ability and opportunities for multiple actors to overcome challenges stemming from the complexity through collective agency. Her research has focused on trade policy changes and influences on the business environment, pharmaceutical industry transformation, and development of consumer society.
