The Pan-European Institute is taking part and organising two panels during the Europe Forum 2023 in Turku. You can find the discussions online on the official website of the Europe Forum. All panels are also recorded and can be watched afterwards on the event’s website.
Kari Liuhto, Director of the Pan-European Institute, Professor at the University of Turku, will be participating in the panel discussion: Finland’s foreign and security policy in a world of division – the new Cold War. The two other panellists are Olli Rehn, Governor of the Bank of Finland, and Pekka Haavisto, Member of Parliament. The panel is moderated by Paavo Okko, Professor Emeritus. The panel is organised by the Paasikivi Society of Turku.

There’s also another panel in which the Pan-European Institute’s Anna Karhu, Research Manager, and Eini Haaja, Postdoctoral Researcher, are moderators. The panel is called: Transatlantic trade relations in turmoil: a challenge or an opportunity for Nordic export companies? The panel discusses transatlantic trade relations and their effects on Nordic export companies. The European Union and its trade relations have become a central topic of conversation in recent years, and new emphases have appeared in trade policy rhetoric, e.g. security concerns and implementation of the green transition. The panellists discussing the topic are:
