Library Services in summer 2024
Most of the library services are available during the summer. The Feeniks Library is open on weekdays throughout the summer, while other library units are closed from Midsummer until the end of July.
Customer service and opening hours
The Feeniks Library is open all summer from 1 June to 1 September, on Mondays 9.00–18.00 and from Tuesday to Friday 9.00–16.00. The Feeniks Library is closed for Midsummer from 21 June to 23 June.
Other library units are open in June and August with shortened hours and are completely closed from 21 June to 31 July. Check the specific opening hours for each library.
The library will resume normal services on 2 September.

All library users can utilize the diverse study spaces at the Feeniks Library throughout the summer during its opening hours.
Study spaces available with key card
University of Turku students and staff can use the following library facilities in addition to the Feeniks Library during the summer, accessible with a key card according to building access rights:
K-Lounge at Turku School of Economics Library
Ground floor study space at the Arcanum Library
Extended hours space at the Calonia Library
24/7 space at the Educarium Library
Entirely closed from 21 June to 31 July are the following library facilities
Second floor of the Arcanum Library
Facilities at the School of Economics Library, including Holvi
Teacher Education Library in Rauma
Reservations and returns
You can reserve materials from all library units at Turku campus throughout the summer regardless of the library units being closed. Reservations can be picked up at the Feeniks Library.
In July, returns can be left in the return box at the Feeniks Library or sent by mail.
Newspaper and ephemera services will not be available from 21 June to 31 July, and these materials will not be delivered to the Feeniks Library during that time.
Interlibrary loan services
Interlibrary loan services are closed from 21 June to 31 July.
Use and acquisition of materials
The library's electronic resources are available to all university members with a UTU account from any location during the summer. You can find e-resources in the Volter database.
The functionality of electronic resources will be ensured during the summer. If you notice any issues, please contact library@utu.fi.

Please note that there may be delays in processing material acquisition suggestions during July and August due to summer holidays. Department/unit orders will not be processed in July.
Publishing support services
The Annales Services, such as publishing doctoral dissertations and ISBN services, will be available throughout the summer.
The commenting service for data management plans (DMPs) for projects funded by the Research Council of Finland operates with limited availability from 13 July to 28 July, and normally at other times.
Approval of APC fee discounts and publication fee advice for FinELib licenses are available throughout the summer.
