Is Your Idea Already Patented?
Åbo Akademi and the University of Turku are piloting a powerful and easy-to-use patent database Teqmine Patent Similarity during the year 2019. You just have to copy-paste the description of your research topic into the search field – the AI of the software does the search for you using natural language, letting you browse patents near your research topic with a couple of clicks.
Patent search provides you with a head start in several phases of the research lifecycle, e.g. in drafting funding applications and while planning your project. As the Academy of Finland funding round is due at the end of September, it is more important than ever to be aware of competing and similar solutions seeking patent protection. Teqmine Patent Similarity makes it easy to make early-phase evaluation of the commercialization potential of your research.
The two universities arrange a joint new user training workshop at Agora building on Thursday, 5 September, 2019 at 12.15–14.30. The training is open for all researchers at the University of Turku and Åbo Akademi. All ÅA and UTU-affiliated researchers are free to create a personal account and use the software during the year until 31 December, 2019. The training will be in English.
