Academy funding for a research project of the Department of Teacher Education - cooperation between Chile and Finland

A research project of the Department of Teacher Education, "Enhancing learning and teaching for future competences of online inquiry in multiple domains" (iFuCo), has received funding from the Academy of Finland. The funding period is 2016-2018.
The project is a consortium project in which the partners are University of Turku, University of Jyväskylä and University of Tampere as well as Chilean partners Universidad Católica de Chile and Universidad de Santiago de Chile.
The leader of the consortium is professor Marja Vauras and the leader of the Turku sub-project is professor Mirjamaija Mikkilä-Erdmann.
iFuCo project has three main objectives: 1) to build a deeper theoretical understanding of students' online inquiry competences, 2) to develop novel instructional model to enhance learning and teaching of future competences in online inquiry in primary education, and 3) to to create a long-term research network and collaboration between Finland and Chile to meet the global challenges of future education.
The sub-projects of Chilean partners are funded by Chilean funding organisation CONICYT.
