Science and art meet in a unique photography exhibition, which opens Tuesday 18 March at 2 pm in the Agora building lobby of the University of Turku. The exhibition is open to the public from 18 March to 15 April 2025.
The photography exhibition SUSMAT in Focus showcases scientifically significant work that is often invisible to the wide audience. The exhibition presents research on sustainable materials through the eyes of researchers working at its forefront.
The photographs of the exhibition have been taken by researchers from the University of Turku who participated in a photography course organised by the SUSMAT initiative. The course brought together researchers in chemistry, mechanical and material engineering, industrial engineering and management, and dentistry to learn about the visualization of science under the guidance of photographer Tiina Puputti.
SUSMAT (Sustainable Materials and Manufacturing) is a university profiling initiative funded by the Academy of Finland that combines technology, natural sciences and medical biomaterial science with data-driven digitalisation and artificial intelligence.
