Business Finland recently granted funding to a 11.7M€ project led by the University of Turku, which seeks to enhance advanced pharmaceutical and life science manufacturing in Finland. The LifeFactFuture project combines world class-excellence of Finnish life science companies, technology companies and academic researchers, and the funding decision demonstrates how public funding for research and development can enable important university–industry research cooperation. The funding decision is among the largest received at the University of Turku in the history of Business Finland.

The University of Turku and India’s prestigious Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) have solidified their partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The landmark agreement brings the two esteemed educational institutes closer and serves as a pivotal step towards fostering concrete future collaborations.

The University of Turku’s seed-funded projects support long-term research, education and innovation collaborations between Finnish and African partners on issues connected to sustainable development. 

Chief Executive of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) Eng Dih Teo and his seven-person delegation visited the University of Turku for the first time on 17 January 2023.

Ten projects at the University of Turku were awarded internal seed funding for Global Pilots of the Ministry of Education and Culture's Internationalisation Programme. The projects focusing on education, health care and sustainability are implemented by a diverse and expert network of partners.

The Singapore Maritime Institute (SMI) and the University of Turku (UTU), Finland, have renewed their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and will continue to jointly promote and develop maritime research and development (R&D) activities.
